I had this back in the day and it was mysteriously misplaced at a party. It is the type of CD that you want to listen to and I enjoy almost every song on the CD. When I was looking at music online I recognized the cover and got excited.and when I got the CD I remembered why. I love this CD. I can't go to sleep to it because I am unconciously looking forward to certain songs--maybe Im just basking in the joy of finding something once lost. I didnt realize I was a trance fan but this is A must have for trance fans.
To me, this compilation screams amateur hour at the turntables. There was a brief reprieve at the end, with the well-known hits "Ordinary world", "Better off alone", and a very short but groovy mix of "On the beach". Part of the appeal of house / trance CDs is a seamless flow from one song to the next to maintain a mood. Well. When your overlap is consistently four bars or less, you've got a lot to learn. One out of five stars, and a waste of $8. in my opinion you've got a pretty big flop.
The potentially catchy "Look at us", abruptly and unfortunately ends the run. When that mood is continuously broken by crappy mixes and mixing. This last mix could easily be twice as long, which would make it more of a meal and less of a teasing snack. I'm not sure what people hear in this - I can do better with two cd players plugged into a old Sony amp. Beat matching with little else is NOT mixing. And of course, these four songs are slammed together just like the rest of the album.Final impression.
I think there may have been a misprint on the CD cover - this was mixed by the Crappy Boys, not the Happy Boys.
A friend of mine had this cd a while back and we could never figure out what the name of it was because all she had was the disc and nothing else with it. I fell in love with the cd and I haven't stopped looking for it until today. If you are a person that enjoys trance, techno, or any other music that has a hyped beat to it, you will love this cd.
I don't even think you can legally call this mixing. Even the casual weekend tecnho-phile won't find anything new here. And by pop, I mean catchy dance tunes and literally popular songs. They have been compressed and chopped down into bite-size 3-4 minute portions. The whole CD gives you the party trance you've asked for and feeds it to you like pablum.
They can all be found on an enormous amount of other various artist compilations. Trance Party does a good job of nailing down pop trance tunes. Each track cuts off at an odd point and is immediately smacked into the next. For treating it's listeners like they are all uneducated in actual trance or mixes it gets it's lumps. The selection here actually crosses into the territory of 'overplayed'.I can't fault this CD on the music because it delivers party songs just as it advertises in the title.
The songs aren't full versions either. If you don't have much of a trance library, this might be good to pick up for a few bucks. Each one is a tried and true club track. If you have higher aspirations for this CD (or trance in general), you may be offended. However it can be faulted for it's mixing and rapid-fire presentation.
The mixing is horrible. For nicely gathering these well-known songs in one place, this CD gets it's props. Definately not worth the $15+ that Amazon is currently selling it for.
Unforgettable. I tend to be VERY CRICAL and SELECTIVE with music.
(this is VERY UNUSUAL) The only track I don't care for is #8 It's A Fine Day - Miss Jane. I like the original version better.
This is one of THE BEST albums I have ever bought in my life.15 out of the 16 tracks are EXCELLENT. So is the music video.
I am a FIRM believer that it's impossible to improve on perfection (i.e. almost ALL movie "sequels" are also worthless)."Scream For More" by Kate Ryan is FANTASTIC.
This album actually caused me to do reasearch and learn a few things. :-)I expect to treasure this album for a LONG TIME.
